Is an ultrasound scan painful?
Ultrasound scans should not be painful. They may cause discomfort if you are suffering from swelling. All of our scans are non-invasive.
What happens if there is something showing up on my scan?
A detailed report is drawn up for you by one of our sonographers before you leave the appointment. Anything of concern will be mentioned to you for further discussion with your GP.
Can I bring someone with me to my scan?
You can bring up to 2 guests with you to your appointment. We recommend you do not bring children.
How long does a scan appointment take?
Scan appointments can vary between 10 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on the type of scan.
How do I prepare for my scan?
Each scan is different and therefore requires different preparations. Some of our scans can require a full bladder, others may require you not to eat for a short time beforehand. For further information on our scans, visit our website.
Do you offer pregnancy scans?
We do not offer pregnancy scans at Ultrasound Care, but our sister clinic Peek A Baby have a range of pregnancy scan packages available for same day booking.
