Kidney, Ureter and bladder scan

Are you suffering from bladder issues? Have you noticed pain in your lower abdomen or back, are you urinating more or less than usual, or have you noticed some blood in your urine?

All the above can be symptoms of bladder problems. They can also be symptoms of kidney problems if accompanied by fluid retention and swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet. If you notice a fever along with the symptoms, we have mentioned this could indicate ureter problems.

Here at Ultrasound Care, we offer a kidney, ureter, and bladder scan to any woman over the age of 16. Our kidney, ureter, and bladder scan will check the condition, size, and shape of the bladder, both kidneys, and the ureter. We can also check for the existence of any urinary tract infections and obstructions or stones in the kidneys and bladder.

The kidney, ureter and bladder scan will not be painful, a cool gel will be applied to the area and an ultrasound probe will be applied to the kidney area, the scan will take approximately twenty minutes, and will only cost you £89.

In preparation for your scan, we ask that you wear loose clothing, and drink at least 1 -2 pints of water an hour before your appointment. (this will allow our sonographer to have a clearer view of the structures that we need to observe) We ask you to continue any routine medication that you must take, we will ensure a full report is compiled for your GP to follow up on.
